Vicki stood in the bedroom and let the oversized sweat pants fall to the floor.  Then she pulled up the t-shirt and tucked it underneath her breasts.  “It’s right here,” she said with her hand on her lower abdomen.

“Mmm, I like it.”  He came closer, thinking that his dessert was having sex with the woman he loved.

“No, it’s in here,” she patted her belly.

“What?”

“Your dessert is growing inside of me.”

Wilson’s eyes moved toward the dark nipples and then he looked up at Vicki’s face.  She was smiling and her eyes were bright.  “You mean?”

“I’m pregnant, Wilson…not fat.”

Wilson placed a hand gently on Vicki’s slight bulge.  “How…how did it happen?”

“Really, Wilson?  Do you need me to explain that to you?”

“N…no, I mean, well, when?”

“When we were having sex.”

Wilson sat down on the bed.  “You’re happy about this?”

“I’m thrilled, Wilson.  I want your baby…babies…I want lots of your babies.”  She pulled off the shirt and straddled him on the bed.  Kissing him, she unzipped his jeans and pulled out his penis, making it hard with her hands.  “My baby maker.”

Wilson kissed her and laid her naked body upon the bed.  “Damn, you’re beautiful.”

Vicki slid a finger enticingly between her pussy lips.  “Prove it.”

In less than a minute, Wilson was naked and his penis buried deep inside his curvy woman.  “This won’t hurt the baby, will it?”  He didn’t stop, couldn’t stop, but needed reassurance.

“We’ve been doing it a lot since this happened, you know,” she giggled.  She pulled him inside of her and squeezed hard, causing him to gasp.  When he came, she wrapped her legs around him and rested her feet on his butt.  “You’re staying here all night.  We’re going to do it all night long.”  Napping in between, the young couple made love all night long until the light of day streamed through the window.

“Vicki, you’ll be late.”

“It’s Saturday, silly.”

Wilson relaxed, but not for long.  Vicki’s body was on a hormonal high and the thing she craved the most was exactly where it could satisfy her craving.

By the end of the weekend, it was Wilson who brought up the subject of his home.  “I’m going to do it, Vicki.”

“Do what?”

“Pay off the mortgage.”

Vicki ran across the room and jumped into his arms, nearly knocking him over.  “Hey, woman, you’re a bigger girl now.”

“And you made me that way,” she laughed.  “I’m thrilled, Wilson.”

“But on one condition, Vicki.  We pay off your house, too, and no more working.  From now on you stay here and let me pamper you.  After the baby comes, I’ll be the one to look for a job.”

Vicki loved this man and the way he took charge, but she didn’t know he was so old fashioned.  “You don’t want me to work?”

“Never.”

Vicki agreed to his terms, but she was reluctant to promise never to work, but that was a long way off.  The two expectant lovers went to bed early that night, their naked bodies wrapped around each other just as they were every night.

It was dark outside when a sudden sharp pain awoke Vicki.  “Wilson, something’s wrong!”  She sat up and held her lower abdomen.  Doubled over in pain, she began sweating.

“Vicki, what’s wrong?”

Vicki threw back the covers and spread her legs apart.  “Wilson, it hurts so bad.”  Screaming his name, she grabbed his arm as a glob of blood fell out of her.  The pain then eased and she lay back against Wilson’s broad chest.

“Vicki, you need to go to the hospital.”

“No, I don’t.  Oh, Wilson, don’t you get it?”

Wilson wasn’t listening.  He pulled on his clothes, wrapped Vicki in a blanket, and carried her to the car.

On the way to the hospital, she began to cry.  “I lost the baby.  It’s gone, Wilson.”

“Are you sure?”

All Vicki could do was cry.

The emergency room physician confirmed Vicki’s fears.  The baby was gone.  “But you two are young.  You have plenty of years to start a family,” the doctor tried to comfort them.

When they returned to Wilson’s home, he took care of things while Vicki lay on the sofa in the living room.

“I don’t want to sleep there, Wilson.  I can’t.”

“Let’s go next door.  There’s a very comfortable bed in a beautiful room on the second floor.”

Vicki forced a half smile at Wilson’s reference to her bedroom.  He tucked her into bed and lay with her until she fell asleep.

When she awoke the next morning, she whispered, “Wilson?”  When there was no answer, she patted the bed next to her.  “Wilson!  WILSON!”

Wilson took the stairs two at a time at the sound of Vicki’s distressed pleas.

“Why did you leave me?”

“I had some things to take care of.  When you feel well enough to come downstairs, I’ll have a surprise for you.”

“I don’t feel like being surprised.”

“This you will love.”

“Hold me, Wilson.”  Wilson climbed into bed with a pale Vicki and held her to him.  “I’m sorry,” she said into his chest.

“It’s not your fault.  The doctor said that this is not uncommon.”

“But I wanted to give you a baby…this baby, I mean, the baby that was.”

Wilson kissed her gently on the lips.  “Don’t do that, Vicki.  Whether a baby lives or not is not your decision to make.”  He winked at her and she smiled slightly.

The reference to what Vicki assumed was a deity surprised her.  She didn’t know that Wilson was a particularly spiritual or religious man.  “I guess not, but…”

“But what?”

Vicki knew she was being paranoid, but she asked anyway.  “Are you going to leave me?”

Wilson kissed her softly and lingeringly.  “Never, and I’ll prove it when you feel up to taking the stairs.”

“I’m up to it.”

Wilson insisted upon carrying Vicki down the stairs.  “Cover your eyes,” he said as he led her into the living room.  “Okay, now you can look.”

Vicki gasped.  There in her oversized living room was all of Wilson’s beautiful inherited furniture.  “Some of it is still in boxes.”

“When did you do this?”

“When you were snoozing away.”

“But what will you do with your house?”

“I made a deal with the devil.”

“No, Wilson, not my ex?”

“Yes.  He paid off the note, but of course I received none of the equity that I had in it, though it doesn’t matter any longer.  I realized what true equity was last night in the emergency room.”

Vicki smiled and leaned against the door.  “I know what you mean.”

“You should sit down.”  Wilson noticed the paleness in Vicki’s face and insisted that she sit down immediately.

Wilson’s furniture made the room look cozy and warm and not nearly as empty.  A fire was burning and soft music was playing.

“Where’s the music coming from?”

“I put my parents’ old stereo in the room off of this one.  The acoustics in there are phenomenal.”

“I can tell.  Once we get some pictures put up, this will be home.”

“This is home, Vicki, if you will have me.”

“If…there is no if.  Yes, I will have you.”  Vicki wanted to celebrate but she was feeling too weak.  “Wilson, I need to lie down.”

Wilson laid her down and grabbed the thick comforter he had brought from his house and tucked it around her.  “Better?”

“Much.”

The warmth of the fire made Vicki drowsy and she was sleeping soundly as Wilson stoked the fire.  He watched her while she slept and wondered how he had gotten so lucky.  It was fate that had brought them together so unexpectedly.  He was convinced of it.  He went into the hidden room and turned off the stereo.  Then he glanced up at the faded names along the wall.  He had tried to change the room, dress it up and make it something that it wasn’t, but it would always remain a dark part of history, his history, but he couldn’t blame Vicki for the sins of her forefathers any more than he could continue feeling sorry for his own ancestors.  He sat down on the cold cement floor and looked up at the ceiling.  He thought about his future with Vicki.  There would be looks and whispers and perhaps even worse, but he could deal with that.  He just hoped that he could contain his feelings if someone were to say something to Vicki, or worse, if their children were not accepted.  He smiled at the thought of raising a family with the woman who lay sleeping on the sofa just a few steps from him.

“Wilson?”

At the soft calling of his name, Wilson was on his feet in a second and at Vicki’s side.

“Where did you go?”

“Just straightening up.”

Satisfied with the response, Vicki drifted off to sleep once again.

***

Six weeks later Wilson came home from his new job as a financial analyst at a bank in the city to the amazing aroma of a freshly baked chocolate cake.  He kissed Vicki on the cheek and opened a bottle of wine.  “Mmm, the smell of something in the oven.  What’s the occasion?”

Vicki smiled at him.  “The doctor said we can try for a baby again.”

Wilson turned away to pour the wine.  It had been six weeks since they had made love and being with Vicki was constantly on his mind, but he feared that he had been the cause of her miscarriage.

She ran her hand seductively along his chest.  “It’s been a long time, Wilson.  I miss you.”  Wilson gulped the wine as Vicki took small sips.  “I know you want me.”  Wilson closed his eyes.  Of course he wanted her.  Sleeping beside her night after night wearing pajamas, and jacking off every morning in the shower was killing him.  “How ‘bout it, big guy?”  She brushed her hand over the crotch of his jeans and he bit his lip.

“Vicki.”

“Mmm, you remembered my name.”  She turned off the oven and took out the cake.  “Cake for dessert?”  She stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the lips.  Then she took him by the hand and led him slowly up the stairs to the bed which was going to be much more tonight than a place to sleep.

“Vicki,” he said, pulling back at the door to the bedroom.  Candles were lit and soft music was playing from an old music box that Vicki had found inside of the closet.  “What is that music?”

“Look inside the closet.”

While Wilson admired the cherry wood music box, Vicki untied the apron she wore and dropped it onto the floor.  Then she unbuttoned the plain dress and slid it off of her shoulders.  Dressed in red silk and lace lingerie that left little to the imagination, she sat down on the bed and leaned against the headboard, waiting for Wilson to turn around.

“It’s beautiful…”  The look in his eyes when he noticed Vicki’s transformation was one of love and longing for the woman he had not made love to in what seemed an eternity.

“See something you like?”  She held out her arms to him and his resistance disappeared.  There was something about a shirt and tie on Wilson that made him more irresistible than ever and Vicki pulled him to her, loosened the knot around his neck, and nearly ripped his shirt in her haste to get it off of his body.  She pulled the tie over his head and pulled him to her.  His chest pressed against her nipples, making them hard as they danced in the lace fabric of her negligee.  She kissed him and parted her legs as she felt the hardness grow inside of his dress pants.

With only his tongue, Wilson moved the lace from Vicki’s breasts and began a slow determined devouring of her hard nipples, opening his mouth to claim her soft breasts.

“Oh, Wilson,” she moaned.

Easing her out of the negligee chosen only for him, he kissed just below her belly button where his child had once lived inside of her.  He lingered there, smoothing his hand between her pelvic bones as if imagining his child there once again.  Vicki caressed his strong arms and broad shoulders, sensing his sadness.

He looked up at her.  “Are you sure?”

“I’ve missed you, Wilson, so much.”

Wilson kicked his pants to the floor and pulled Vicki down onto the bed beneath him.  He kissed her as he eased into her depths and held her as he realized how much he had missed her too.  He loved this woman and couldn’t get enough.  He took her forcefully, claiming her, and satisfying the need within her.  He watched her as she climaxed, and held her as he gave her everything he had.  He looked into her eyes.  “I love you, Vicki.”

“Oh, Wilson,” she whispered as tears streamed down her face.

Wilson wrapped her in his arms and kissed her tear stained face.  “Don’t cry, Vicki.”

“I missed you so much.”

“Shh, baby, I was here all the time.”

“You know what I mean.”

He closed his eyes and opened them again.  He knew what she meant.  They belonged together.  They were of the same flesh.  The color of the flesh did not matter.  Wilson pulled the covers over them both.

“You think I’m going to let you sleep tonight?”

“I hope not,” he smiled and laid his head on the pillow.  He turned her head toward him and kissed her sweet parted lips.

Wilson awoke to an unbelievable feeling and he opened his eyes to see Vicki’s beautiful body on top of him.  Vicki leaned down and kissed him as she slid up and down the length of his hardness.  “Damn, woman, I think I’m dehydrated,” he teased when Vicki had drained him.
