“You didn’t, and Colbin gave us everything we have, turned us into everything we are. We owe him big time. That though doesn’t change that he and Lara could cut back on the PDA. Mom and dad never touched that much and they clearly loved each other,” Jaden finally said, getting up. They had made a full circle back to topic, but not without dragging up terrible memories. Kaden took a moment to look around, but he knew there was no denying that their lives had changed for the better all those years back.

“Just stop being an ass towards him,” Kaden pleaded and Jaden turned away from him, ready to walk up the stairs in their cabin. The forest surrounded them and they loved it that way.

“Maybe, if you tell me where you are all those nights you supposedly stay at the compound. And don’t bother lying since my nose is better than that,” Jaden challenged and Kaden took a deep breath. He usually tried to shower after seeing Cia, but this morning it simply hadn’t been possible or he would have been gone all day.

“Out. You are almost breaking the girls we are getting together with. I’m trying to find tough ones who can handle that,” he lied, but Jaden only picked up a brow.

“Funny, how they have all the same perfume … and how you obviously never found one to share.”

Kaden got up, pulling up his shoulders until they all but covered his ears. He wasn’t sure what Jaden would say if he told him that maybe, just maybe he was falling in love.

“You would tell me if this was something I needed to know, right?”

“Would you?” Kaden asked right back and Jaden grated his teeth, no longer looking at him.

“There’s nothing to tell. I’m me and nothing changed that. I don’t know what you think you see, but I haven’t changed. It’s you who’s suddenly secretive. But I guess as much as brothers love each other, sometimes there’s no need in sharing.”

With that, he walked up the stairs and Kaden stayed back. There had been no screaming involved, or flying fists, but still, this clearly had been a fight – and one left unresolved, at that. As much as he hated it, Kaden wasn’t the one starting to act violent, therefore he didn’t feel the need to explain himself. Sighing, he followed his twin upstairs, entering his own room. He knew it would be a long day because at the end of it, Cia was waiting, offering him a chance to escape.

Kaden entered Cia’s apartment minutes after the sun had set. He knew she would be long home since shifts at the daycare center didn’t take all day, but still her apartment was unnaturally silent. He could hear her heartbeat though, following it into the bathroom.

Candles were burning everywhere and Cia had her head rested back while soaking in the tub. Kaden grinned to himself while watching her. Her eyes were closed and she had a slight smile on her face, a flush working its way over her body since the water seemed to be pretty warm. Kaden just wanted to say something when she raised one foam-covered hand to her breast. His breath came short while he moved a little closer. Her second hand was going down her body, finding the exact right spot.

“Oh, Kaden,” she whispered, pinching her own nipple before biting those full lips.

Preparing for a wet adventure, Kaden quietly slipped out of his jeans and shirt, kneeling silently next to the tub with his boxers only while Cia’s hand had found her sensitive spot, creating soft waves with her rather regular movements.

Her breath was coming quicker and she bowed under pleasure.

“You know, I can do that for you,” Kaden offered, his voice deep. She instantly screamed, moving in surprise. Water splashed everywhere, but Kaden caught her, meeting her lips almost instantly. Her heart, which just had skipped a few beats in fear, switched to a more regular, deep rhythm, while she pressed herself against him.

“Hi,” she breathed, her blue eyes deep like the ocean. Kaden wanted her so bad, he wasn’t sure he could take it slow if he now slipped into the tub with her, so he pushed her back down.

“Relax and let me take care of you,” he whispered, his voice rough.

“Well then, do it, my dark warrior,” she gave back, her eyes almost black now in the candlelight. Pushing away some candles so he wouldn’t literally incinerate, he leaned over, seeing how Cia bowed her body towards him.

He caught one sensitive pebble between his lips, biting down ever so slightly. She moaned instantly, and it made it hard for him not to draw blood. It wasn’t that he hadn’t enjoyed their lovemaking before any less, but with him taking her life force, it was just so much more intense for him – and her.

He moved one hand to replace hers between her legs, finding her slick even though she was submerged in water.

She reached out to him, placing her hand against his cheek while he started to circle her clit with his thumb, the sensitive nub drawing another moan from between her lips. She was moving against his hand, obviously wanting more. He moved his tongue and his finger in the same rhythm until she gently nudged his chin up, pulling him towards her so she could kiss him.

Another time he imitated his hand’s movement with his tongue, feeling how Cia started to pant against him.

“More,” she pleaded, her voice full of pleasure and longing. Kaden was ready to give her exactly what she wanted, slipping two fingers inside of her while still working the sensitive nub with his thumb. He knew all her sweet spots, knew exactly how to treat her so she would get most out of this and yet, somehow, he didn’t want this to be over any time soon.

“Why don’t you … come in and … join me?” she asked, her breath coming short.

“Because I want to make this last, and if I join you, we might get rough again,” he replied, swallowing as his erection strained against his boxers with every movement, creating a friction that would be driving him insane. He wanted nothing more than to jump in with her and bury himself deep within her.

“Did I say I minded rough?” she questioned, and he looked at her for a long moment, seeing the mischievous glint in her eyes. Oh, clearly she wouldn’t mind at all, but it wasn’t what he wanted right then for her.

“Close your eyes. Can you feel how my finger is stroking over your clit? Can you feel how hard it is, all the sparks shooting up from it?” he asked and she swallowed before closing her eyes and nodding. With his free hand he cupped one breast. “Feel how I pinch your nipple. It’s just a small degree between pain and pleasure, but still, I can feel you reacting. Every time I pinch you right here…” Another time he twirled her sensitive bud between his fingers before increasing the pressure and then releasing it. “… I can feel you clench around my fingers right here.” He moved his fingers a little faster in and out, seeing how her brow furrowed while she constantly wet her lips.

“God, Kaden, I’m so close, but I wanna feel more of you,” she pleaded, her voice breathless.

“You will, girl, later,” he promised. “I’ll be in you then, filling you just so you know you belong to me. I will go slowly at first, stroking you inside out …” He let his fingers perform the task that later on his cock would take over. “… then I’ll move into you harder, faster, while covering your whole body with kisses, licking and sucking every place I feel like. And once I do that, you’ll be all warm, and your skin will be so hyper sensitive, you’ll come the moment I start teasing your breasts again with my tongue. Wouldn’t you explode then?” he asked, moving his hand just enough so the friction would be driving her insane. She was close, so close, and it probably was the look he liked most on her.

He leaned in, kissing her before moving back to her breasts, caressing one with his free hand while teasing the other one with his tongue.

“Take my blood,” she demanded, roughly, and as much as Kaden wanted to resist, he couldn’t. He bit down, having her cry out her orgasm as her blood hit his tongue. By the Creator, he really loved the sounds she was making whenever he managed to make her come.

He slowed his stroking, drawing her waves of pleasure out as long as he could before sitting back on his heels, still turned on beyond saying, especially now that her sweet taste was all over his tongue.

“You are trying to kill me with passion, aren’t you?” she asked, the laughter clear in her voice.

“Wrong, I am trying to make you feel alive with passion,” he corrected, pulling a towel close while she got up, standing on wobbly legs. Kaden couldn’t help but feel proud. If you asked him, he’d love to make sure that her knees would be weak every day for the next decade or two until age would eventually take her away from him.

Cia and Kaden settled into a routine that made her more than ever aware of the fact that they didn’t belong in the same world. She needed to change that. She was barely able to function those days after Kaden’s nightly visits, not that he managed to drop by as often as she wished, but usually he came during the week, meaning that she couldn’t avoid going to work. Thankfully the kids were pretty forgiving with her constant yawning though her colleagues weren’t.

“Ciarda, you need to start coming to work more awake. Yesterday you almost let Timmy burn his fingers and today you let two girls pee their pants. This is not acceptable,” her boss said, coming in with the freshly changed girls.

“I’m so sorry, I just have some troubles getting sleep,” she replied, almost blushing. Her troubles even had a name: Kaden. “But there was something I wanted to mention to you anyways,” she said slowly, standing up from the tiny chair she had sat on to help some little ones with the crafting they were doing. “I have to resign. I will leave this job,” she explained.

Spring always meant a new start for nature and it had been the same for Cia. Everything had changed a few months ago now and they were in the middle of fall. The summer had been a whirlwind of making love and doing shifts at the daycare center and the gas station, but it just didn’t work any longer. The more he came to her bloody just because he hadn’t taken the time to shower, the more she knew that she needed to do something for him. Leaving her day job to shift her sleeping circle back to nights was the best chance she had on seeing more of him and worrying him less.

Besides, she had debated over it for months, but she finally decided to go and see her parents again. With her gas station work she’d make enough money to keep the apartment, but if she wanted to go back to a night schedule, she needed more contact … and that she’d find most likely in the vampire world. Maybe some of her old friends were still around and wouldn’t mind meeting up with her.

“Okay, you might have been a slacker in the last weeks, but we still love you. The kids love you,” her boss said and Cia nodded. She hated to leave, but some things were just worth the sacrifice.

“And I want to stay, but I can’t. I am sorry,” she said quietly, meaning it. She knew that there was no way to explain to this woman what she planned on doing next, but then she didn’t owe her an explanation, either.

“Wow.” The woman took a deep breath, looking around. “How soon do you want to get out?” she asked and Cia shrugged. She seriously would miss this.

“You know, you can look for a replacement and I’ll leave whenever the new one is ready,” she offered. It would give her an easy way out. Checking her watch, she knew that the end of this shift was drawing near.

“We have a lot of people applying for those positions, you know that, but we still would prefer keeping you.” She wasn’t really surprised. This was one of the better daycare centers in the area and they paid good money, too.

“What does that mean then?” she asked, and her boss straightened, giving her a hard look.

“It means that tomorrow someone else will start and that this way you’d be out in a week at max.”
