Indignation joined the fury. Then hurt spiraled around it all making him volatile. He slapped off the water. Jerked the towel from where it had fallen on the floor and pulled it around his hips. “How the hell did you get in here?”

“Don’t. Move.”

Her low, dark tone tensed Mitch’s fingers where they struggled with the knot in his towel. He lifted his head and looked at her again. Studied her expression while trying to ignore how incredibly beautiful she’d become over the years, as if she’d grown into her stunning features and striking bone structure.

Really damn beautiful.

“Why are you still pointing that at me? It’s pretty clear you can put your gun down, Halina.”

“Heather,” she said through clenched teeth. “It’s Heather now. It’s been Heather for a long damn time.”

Mitch jammed one end of the towel beneath the other edge so it stayed then put his hands on his hips. “I am
never
calling you Heather. Fuck that. And
fuck you
while I’m at it. What the hell happened to going back to Russia with your
husband
?”
