It was just soon enough, and she subsided until she was ready for him to continue.  He began again, this time inch by inch for the urgency of it was about to overmaster him until finally it did, and with a fierce cry, “Yes!” he plunged again and again, until with they rode over the top together in mutual ecstasy with cries of exultation loud enough to make Buddy, lying under the bed, bark frantically in alarm, so the whole thing ended in laughter, and what a beautiful ending it was.

They slept in each other’s arms until way after their usual breakfast time, so that Joshua, worried that something might be wrong, peeped in Megan’s bedroom and discovered that far from being wrong, everything was very right indeed.  He smiled in satisfaction and tiptoed off to tell his wife that Matambala was in fine fettle again. And before they woke up, as always happens in Africa, everybody on the estate knew and rejoiced too.
