“So he wasn’t lying when he said you had inherited money!” I exclaimed.

“There’s enough for college, to start my own business, and to take you out to a really expensive restaurant.” He grinned wickedly. “Or we could just stay here.”

“I’d like that,” I whispered, warm desire spreading through me. “But Nona is having a party … it’s Christmas Eve.”

“Yes, I know. But I haven’t had a chance to buy you anything.”

“You’re here. Best Christmas gift ever.”

“I’m going to be here for a long time,” he told me.

I thought of Nona waiting for me. “We should go to the house.”

“Yeah, we should.” Dominic’s hand traced my cheek and my lips, then slipped away as he stood up. “Bookmark our place.”

“Until later,” I said softly.

Dominic nodded. “We’ll have lots of time together now that I’m not a wanted man anymore.”

“You’re wanted … by me.”

He chuckled. “So isn’t it time we did something normal? Like go out on a date? Movie, dinner, dancing, horseback riding or something.”

“Or something,” I said, leaning into him. “Just being with you is all I want.”

“You’ve got me.”

“And I’m never letting go.” I brushed my lips across his. “This feels so right. I can’t wait to see what’s next.”

“Don’t you already know?” he asked lightly. “Since you’re psychic?”

“I hardly ever know important stuff about myself and the people I love,” I murmured. I reached out, entwining my fingers in his. “Sometimes it’s better to just enjoy the surprises along the way. Together.”

“We’ll be together for a very long time,” Dominic said softly.

“Is that a prediction?” I teased.

“A promise.”

Holding hands, I looked deep into his eyes and glimpsed our future.

I couldn’t wait.
