Titters of laughter sounded from the audience now that the owners had the ugly scene well in hand, not that Joseph needed any help. He stood looming over Vaughn, not taking his eyes off him until the two big owners hauled him up roughly by the arms and escorted him none too gently to the exit. Only then, did Joseph turn and quickly return to Livvy.
“Your taste in Dom’s certainly has improved, honey,” Mara said with a wink as she relinquished her hold on Livvy’s shoulders. Since her Dom had arrived and was providing her protection, Mara quietly slipped back on the other side of the ropes.
Ignoring the applause and ‘Atta boys’ that ensued, Joseph scooped Livvy up and carried her to a nearby couch. As he sat with her cuddled in his lap, she could feel his body vibrating, his anger far from appeased. Her hand rose to his cheek.
“Joseph, he’s gone. It’s over.”
“Not until he’s across the border in some other state.” He glanced down at her. “But you let me worry about that, little one. Are you all right?”
“Shaken a bit, but watching you go all kick ass alpha on his butt made me feel a whole lot better.”
He buried his face in her hair, hugging her close. A moment later his lips nuzzled along her throat and he murmured huskily, “I wanted to choke the life out of him while I had my hands at his throat.”
“I’m glad you didn’t.”
“I know, you don’t think he’s worth it.”
“That and because Texas doesn’t allow conjugal visits.”
It started out low, a small tickle against her skin, turning quickly to a rumble of his laughter in his chest.
She squirmed on his lap until her front was pressed against his, with her arms entwined around his neck. “Seriously, Joseph, thank you for defending me.” Against his ear, she whispered further, “Now that his nonsense is over, can we resume our play?”
His head came up. “You want to continue the session?”
“We came all this way to play and barely got started. Not to mention, David and Emma are enjoying the room we had reserved for ourselves for weeks in advance. Don’t let him spoil our evening. Please?”
“You’re sure? That was quite a scare, and you were nervous before that. Maybe—”
“It’s like falling off the wagon, isn’t it? You have to dust yourself off and get right back on, right?”
That got her a small smile. “I believe you mean a horse; you’re mixing your idioms.”
“A wagon, a horse, or a cross.” Pausing, she shrugged and grinned up at him. “I’m game for anything as long as it’s with you, Master.”
Her smile was infectious, and he returned it fully.
“You are so precious to me, Livvy. I love you.”
“I love you too, Joseph.” Her lips brushing his as she spoke incited him to swoop in for a heated kiss. When he released her, she blinked up at him while sorting out her head enough to make sense. “Master, please say you’ll do whatever kinky stuff you had planned for me. Seeing you beat Vaughn’s ass made me incredibly hot.”
A full throated laugh was her answer as he rose and carried her back to the cross.

David, Livvy noticed, was using considerable strength to keep a loose-limbed Em on her feet. Cap hauled his petite wife on his lap to make room on the couch for them.
Livvy grinned over at her friends. “So? What did you think of the Sultan’s Chamber?”
“Words cannot express…” Em sighed. “This place is every D/s couple’s dream come true. I guarantee that no one had a more eventful night than David and me.”
Livvy giggled, as did Mara and Elena, with Meg joining in. Soon they were convulsed into laughter as their Doms indulgently chuckled.
Em looked at David. “Did I say something funny?”

She’s still juggling writing with her day job and you’ll find her working at her laptop into the wee hours of the night, scribbling plot ideas onto the notebook she always keeps handy, and working out the details of a scene while floating around in her pool with a lemon drop in hand. Don’t be surprised if you see her pulling over on the side of the road to capture an idea for a scene on paper, because as Maddie says, her best ideas always come when there isn’t a pen in a five-mile radius.
