They changed into the robes and returned to
the room. Hopefully, they would get through this without Hades’s
jealousy showing. The tables were next to each other close enough
that they could hold hands if they wanted to. The experience was
all about relaxing together.

The masseuses put the sheets over them as
they laid on the tables, so they could slip off the robes. Now they
were ready for the massage. Doc felt Leon’s skillful hands knead
her back and her neck making her feel much better. She looked over
at Hades as Ellen moved her hands over his lotion slick skin,
pushing her fingers in for a deep muscle massage. He seemed to have
relaxed enough to enjoy it. She was happy to be able to show him
some of the things he had never gotten to do.

Leon continued working all the way down to
her ass. He then dropped down doing her legs, one at a time. He
moved to her arms and by then she felt relaxed to the point she
could easily fall asleep. Hades was quiet and didn’t move as Ellen
finished up his massage. Doc wondered if he had fallen asleep, he
hadn’t. They went to the dressing room to dress, paid, and
left.

“That was amazing!” Hades said as they walked
to their room.

“Glad you liked it. I figured you would.”

“I’ve never been so relaxed in my life.”

“It can be very therapeutic.”

They went back to their room where they
planned on showering, having some awesome sex, and getting a good
night’s sleep, at least a girl can dream. A beep sounded as soon as
they entered the room. Another sounded before Doc realized they had
a message waiting for them. Surely the guys couldn’t have gotten
into trouble so soon?

“Hades, this is Dione and we’re in jail.
We’re not very far from the hotel and they said they’ve got us for
drunk and disorderly.”

“Come on, let’s go get our boys. I’m not sure
they understand the meaning of keeping a low profile,” Doc
said.

“Zeus will not be happy.”

They went to the front desk to get directions
to the nearest police station. Dione was right, it was only a few
blocks away. It wasn’t a large building and since it was early
evening, few people were going in and only a few cops were hanging
around outside. They went in the front entrance and straight to the
front desk where a young officer sat doing paperwork.

“Excuse me,” Doc said. “I have four friends
who were arrested and I need to bail them out.”

He was cute, medium blond hair, deep blue
eyes. He was muscular and about six foot tall. He looked Doc up and
down then smiled a sexy half smile intended to encourage her. “So
the four pack of fighters are yours?” he asked with a smirk.

“They’re my friends, yes.”

“You’ll have to see the captain about them
and he’s not too happy. Got called in while he was out with the
missus, to see to the whole mess. I’ll ring his desk so he can come
out here to take you back there.” He picked up the phone and talked
to someone briefly before he hung it up. “He’s on his way.”

Doc and Hades turned to look down the hall
the way he had pointed and saw a big guy with salt and pepper hair
coming toward them. He nodded curtly at them and motioned for them
to follow him. He walked past two doors and led them into through
the third door. It was a small office with a large desk which he
slid behind and sat down in the desk chair. He leaned back in as he
examined them.

“I’m Captain Kenton. Please take a seat,” he
said as he pointed to the seats they stood behind. “I didn’t get
your names or your relationship to the four men in lock up.”

“I’m Gemma Jones and this is my husband,
Hal.” Doc avoided the question about their relationship for
now.

“Your
friends
got in quite a fight
earlier tonight. They have some serious fighting abilities between
them. I’ve looked at the footage of the fight and I haven’t even
seen moves like that on TV. Who are they and why are they in my
town?”

“This is just a stop on our way through,
Captain.”

“I’m not a fool, Mrs. Jones. I look at you
and I see military. He and the others give me the feeling of spy
stuff. Their names came back with the appropriately tame
backgrounds, but it doesn’t match what my gut tells me or what the
fight footage says about them. Men that fight like that, they are
always involved in something bad either in a good or a bad way.
What are they involved in and should I be concerned?”

“I’ll be straight with you, Captain. We are a
special team that works unofficial missions. Right now we are
working a kidnapping. The man is being tortured for highly
classified information and he can’t hold out much longer. We have
an informant who smuggled out some information and photos, he looks
at death’s door. I’d like to say our priority is to save him, but
they fear if he talks there will be an international incident.”

“I want to believe you, wish I could help,
even, but you know there’s no way I can check this out.”

“That’s not completely true. Two of the
younger guys were lent to us by Olympus security. They have a
government contract and this has all gone through Cherish who owns
the company. She and her two men are the only ones aware of this op
and she only knows that it’s government run and two of her own are
involved in it.”

“I knew her old man. I met him a few times
when he was recruiting for Olympus when he first got it going. He
hit all the big departments, New York, San Diego, Dallas, looking
for the best most experienced personnel. He told me when I got
close to retirement to give him a call. I was barely trained when I
met him the first time straight out of the academy. Wonder if she
would honor her old man’s offer.”

“If you have the skills and a good record,
I’m sure she would. Want to give her a call?” Doc handed him one of
the cards Cherish had slipped her with the taser. Maybe Cherish
could see the future because Doc hadn’t thought the cards would be
helpful. She had almost tossed them on the dresser before they
left.

He dialed a number off the card. She could
hear someone answer at Olympus Security. The captain read the
extension number off the card and there was a pause before the
operator connected them.

“Cherish.”

“Hello, this is Captain Kenton from the
Chicago Police Department. I’m speaking to a friend of yours, Gemma
Jones and I need verification of some information.”

“Alright, what do you need to know?”

“Do you have some of your people working with
her?”

“Yes.”

“Is this an authorized mission?”

“Authorized, but strictly confidential and
I’m afraid unofficial. I’m not sure why she gave you information
about this.”

“Most of her team is in lock up and she is
trying to get them out.”

“What?” Cher squeaked. “What happened?”

“It wasn’t anything serious, just a bar
fight. I just had to make sure they weren’t terrorists or
criminals.”

“All the men on her team are patriots of the
highest order. They give everything for their people.”

“Thank you for the information. I had hoped
to discuss a possible job with you. I met your dad a few times, a
great guy and I’m sorry for your loss.”

“Thank you. I really miss him.”

“He is missed by many. He told me he would
give me a job when I was ready. Is that still a possibility?”

“Send in a resume with your application and
under references put Cher approved. I’ll have to run a background
check on you, but if your record is good, you’ll have no problem
getting on. You may have to move, but we have a few Chicago team
members and are considering having an office there. You’d be
surprised how much work we do in your area.”

“I’ll get that in right away. I can move if
necessary, but my contacts here may do you more good. Take the
current situation, even if I’m retired I could deal with this
easily.”

“Thank you, Captain, for your help. Tell
Gemma to keep a better check on those guys.”

“I will. Thanks and goodbye.”

He hung up the phone turning to look at Doc
and Hades. “Everything checked out. I may be working with you guys
before too long.”

“It’s a shame you aren’t now. This mission
won’t be easy,” Hades said. His voice was deep and compelling, the
captain looked up startled. It was the first time Hades had said
anything.

“I’ll get those charges dropped and send you
on your way. Keep your guys out of trouble now. They really stepped
in it and they’d best keep a low profile.”

“You never told us what happened?” Doc
asked.

“There was a young girl with an abusive
boyfriend. He was twisting her arm, ended up breaking it. One of
your guys jumped in and taught the boyfriend a lesson.
Unfortunately, he had about ten friends with him and they jumped
your guy. Your other three guys jumped in and it was a free for
all. The girlfriend agreed to press charges, but she’s scared to
death. The boyfriend’s father is a drug lord, Amilio Santiago. He’s
just a spoiled two bit criminal, the father’s the problem. The man
is rich, powerful, and loves that boy even though he’s
disappointing. Alberto Santiago is a man that gets things done and
he’s not a good enemy to have. We’re having a hard time finding a
place to hide the girlfriend that’ll be safe enough.”

“I guess we need to speed things up so we’ll
be gone before he gets around to looking for us. Is he aware of
what’s happened yet?”

“If he watches the news. It was on right
before you got here. Amilio got the rough end of things and he is
sedated so he won’t be able to tell him much. I’m not sure his
friends knew what caused the fight, but they know what your guys
look like. All of them are still in lock up and they will be
sentenced. We’ll do what we can to tie them up as long as possible,
but they’ll probably get out tomorrow afternoon. Let’s get your
guys out.” He stood up and led the way back to the front desk where
he did the paperwork needed and the guys were brought out of lock
up.

They looked pretty sheepish and had their
eyes on the floor. Doc let them worry until they made it back to
the hotel. “I know we messed up,” Dione said.

“I understand,” Doc said.

“You do?” Dione examined her face to see if
she was being sarcastic.

“You defended someone weaker than you and
it’s commendable. I would have done the same thing. Now we just
have to get on with our mission and get the hell out of here.”

The tension in the room dropped away now that
they realized they wouldn’t be in trouble, at least not now. They
still had to face Zeus and he might not see things the same way.
They knew they were taking a chance with the mission but the tiny,
almost child sized female was being manhandled and Dione simply
couldn’t let that go.

“Everyone go get some sleep and we’ll meet at
five in the morning. After a quick breakfast, we’ll rent an SUV,
check out, and head to the location. We’ll do what surveillance we
can before we break in and get our god back,” Doc said. She was up
for the action and she needed a positive outcome. The guys left and
she and Hades went to bed. The mood from earlier had changed and
they both just wanted sleep.

Doc pulled her pillow over her head. What was
that damned sound anyway. She groaned, “Just go away!”

“Come on, Sugar, we have to get out of here,”
Hades said as he pulled her pillow away. At least that irritating
sound had stopped. “They’ll be waiting for us.”

“I’m coming, really. Just a second…”

He leaned into her, kissing her tenderly at
first but then it became more until they were a pile of wet want
and need. He pulled back but she tried to hang on to him. “Don’t
stop,” she demanded now fully awake and completely turned on.

“We have to go, now, honey. I wish we
didn’t.”

“Why’d you get my motor running if you were
just going to turn it off?”

“It was wake you that way or pour cold water
on you, nothing else was working. I thought you’d prefer this.” He
smirked and she so wanted to wipe it off his face.

“Payback’s a bitch baby.”

“I didn’t have a choice. That’s so not fair
to hold that against me.”

She started to say life’s not fair until she
remembered that he would know that better than most. All the
aggravation went right out of her. A hot kiss was better than cold
water anytime. Men were hard to understand, gods were impossible.
She hurried to shower and dress, Hades was already waiting for her.
He handed her a cup of coffee and she smiled.

“I guess you’re figuring out I’m not always a
morning person?”

“It’s a delightful voyage of discovery,
Baby.”

“Smartass!”

“I can be, but I love you no matter
what.”

Doc was speechless. He loved her? OMG and she
loved him too. She had for a while now and she had wondered how she
could love a male so flawed before she had realized she’d been
tricked with smoke, mirrors, and the desire to harm by that bitch
Dee. Now she knew and could appreciate what she had whenever she
looked at her mate, Hades.

She drank some of her coffee to help clear
her head. She needed to concentrate on the mission at hand not her
handsome mate. They left the room and hurried down to the lobby.
Doc waited, watching for the others as Hades checked them all out.
Dione was in the lead with the other three behind him, Zot brought
up the rear. Hades joined them with keys in hand to the SUV that
had been dropped off for them sitting out front. It was one that
would seat eight regular people so they would have enough room even
for the five supersized gods and little ole her. The gods stowed
all the gear in the back while Doc slid into the driver’s seat.

She knew Hades would want to drive, but she
was familiar with the area having done her residency at a nearby
hospital. He didn’t even argue, she was a little disappointed since
she had all her arguments lined up. They left the city behind
driving about fifteen miles out until farms were all around. They
turned down a nondescript narrow two lane road and drove around ten
miles to a small unnamed community. They pulled into the only gas
station for miles around and filled the tank, used the bathroom,
and bought some drinks and snacks. They would be near here until it
was over, win or lose. They drove a mile from their target, Zot and
Aaron changed into all hunter camo. The small wooded area here
teemed with wildlife so it was a good cover. They took goggles,
water, and a snack before leaving the vehicle and slipping away in
the direction of the target.
