She chuckled. What the hell was she going to do now?

****

Tank went to his room to find Jeremy and Joker playing video games. They were having some kind of race and Jeremy was actually beating him. He smiled and went to the bathroom trying to figure out the fucking emotions rolling through him. God, he didn’t expect sex to be that intense. She was so fucking perfect and he didn’t want to let her go.

He wouldn’t. Not again.

He splashed water on his face and reached for a towel to pat it dry. A small little hand patted the back of his thigh and he turned to see Jeremy staring up at him.

“Hey, bud.” He bent down to pick him up. “Did you have fun with Uncle Joker?”

He nodded smiling. “We raced motorcycles.”

“Did you win?”

He nodded again, his smile growing wider. “Joker’s slow.”

“I heard that!” Joker yelled from the room.

Tank couldn’t explain how happy the little boy made him. How happy Joss made him. He walked back into the bedroom as she came in. She looked thoroughly fucked and he loved it. He wanted to do it again.

“I’m hungry. J, you want to get some pizza?”

He nodded, looping his arm around Tank’s neck. He leaned in and kissed the little boy’s temple. “Let’s go.”

He walked out with Jeremy in his arms and
Josslyn
by his side only to stop when he saw the detective standing in the middle of the main room waiting for them. He glanced over at Deuce and Torque who simply stared at him.

“Go to your mom.” He handed
Josslyn
the kid and walked over to the officer. “What can I do for you?”

The detective stood with his hands propped up on his hips. “We received a call earlier this afternoon about shots being fired near residential property. The witness described your Harley Fat Boy with a man fitting your description being the one firing the weapon.” The detective narrowed his eyes. “Do you know anything about that?”

“I can’t say that I do.”

Of all times for the detective to be snooping around. Tank was well aware that his shoulder had a square patch of gauze on it and that if the detective noticed it, like he was inclined to do, he’d probably be taken in for questioning.
Josslyn
walked over to Tank and looped her arm around him while laying her head on his shoulder to cover the bandage.

“Let me guess, you were with him the whole time.” The detective glanced over at
Josslyn
.

“Actually I wasn’t.”
Josslyn
slipped her hand in his back pocket. “Jeremy fell asleep and I came inside to lay him down for a nap. I had to make some work calls so I stayed with Jeremy. Tank was working on his bike in the garage.”

The detective looked torn. Tank smoothed his hand along her back to ease her nerves. If he wanted to snoop around, he wasn’t doing a very good job of it. Most of the police force that were interested in MC life pulled them over on the streets or got them away from the club. Very few walked in without a warrant to talk to them.

Tank met the detective’s eyes. “We were all here so whoever did the shooting wasn’t us.”

The detective studied him for a moment. “Well, I thought it was interesting how detailed the witness was. He gave a good description of the bike and of you. Almost as if he were part of the gun fight himself.”

He glanced around. “Now, I know law abiding citizens such as yourself wouldn’t be caught up in some gang war with another club, would you? Not to the point that you shoot it out like the gunfight at OK Corral. I know, being law abiding citizens, you’d call the police when such matters arise and let us handle any criminal activity such as kidnappings and assault.” The detective glanced between the club members. “
Ya’ll
would do that right? I don’t need to have any doubts.”

Tank didn’t know what to say. If the detective found even a shred of something that could give him probable cause, he could make Tank’s life a living hell. He knew that they weren’t always law abiding. He probably knew that if he looked he would find drugs and dirty money. Nobody in the club really liked cops snooping around. Most only knew what they’d heard from other cops and snitches. They went on instinct that the club was bad so if they hung around long enough, they’d find something to arrest them for. Most clubs didn’t play that game with the police.

“You don’t have to worry. We haven’t done anything wrong. We’re on your side.” Tank cleared his throat, not even believing that bullshit himself.

“That’s what I thought. Well, you have a nice day.” The detective turned to leave and Tank held his breath until he was gone.

He glanced over at
Josslyn
. “Can we go home now?”

She rolled her eyes. “You should have changed your shirt.”

He rubbed a hand over his face. “Who the fuck called it in? Or better yet, saw me well enough to identify my Harley?”

“Eddy.” Torque blew out a breath. “He’s fucking with us. Knew it’d be hard to hide that bullet wound in your shoulder.”

Tank glanced down at Jeremy. “We’ll talk about this later. I need some food and some sleep.”

He walked out ahead of
Josslyn
and unlocked her car. She strapped Jeremy in his car seat and closed the door, staring at him over the hood.

“Can you at least tell me what happened?”

“You know the answer to that.”

She walked around the car and took the keys from him. “He’s going to keep terrorizing until you stop him. What is he going to do next? He’s kidnapped your son. He’s wrecked havoc on you. If the bullet was a little to the right you wouldn’t even be fucking standing here right now.”

Tank gripped her shoulders and leaned in to kiss her. “It’s going to take something bigger than a bullet to take me out.”

She slugged his stomach. “Quit being stupid. He could have shot you in the chest or the head. Jeremy would be without a father and
I
—” She stopped, letting her sentence trail off.

“You what?” He wrapped his hands around her neck, stroking the soft skin there with his thumbs.

She shook her head. Tank leaned in, pressing her body against the car with his own. “I love you and I’m not going anywhere. You’re going to be bitching about all the messes I make until we’re old and gray.” She smiled, though she wouldn’t look at him.

“Stop with the what-ifs, baby.” He kissed the top of her head. “I got shot in the shoulder. Something worse could have happened but it didn’t so you don’t need to worry about it.”

She finally met his eyes. “I love you. Of course I’m going to worry about you.”

Tank wrapped his arms around her. He held her for a moment, pressing his face into the crook of her neck. She was everything he wanted. It amazed him of how quickly all the other stuff faded away.

“I’ll meet you at home. We’ll order a pizza and spend some family time in front of the TV.”

She nodded. “Family time.”

“Yes. Family time.” He backed away from the car, heading toward his bike. “And after Jeremy goes to bed, sexy time.”

Chapter Seven

They’d watched two kid-friendly movies that Jeremy loved. Ate pizza and drank sodas in front of the TV.
Josslyn
watched her two boys play with Jeremy’s toy motorcycles, racing around the living room. Tank grabbed him and tickled him when Jeremy declared that he’d beat him.

She’d never seen him so happy. Either one of them.

“Go get Mommy.” Tank pointed toward her and the little boy grinned.

Jeremy ran toward her and she lifted him up, hugging him and loving on him while he continued to laugh. She kissed him a few times for good measure and sat him down. He was wound up and she was completely happy watching him play.

“You look like you’re sleepy.” Tank moved to the couch next to her, plopping down with his arm on the back of the sofa behind her.

“I am.” She snuggled close to him, while Jeremy settled down long enough to watch the movie they’d put in.

Her life felt perfect at the moment. She lay against Tank with his arm draped around her, a protection of sorts that made her feel safe. Jeremy laughed and smiled at the show on TV and she smiled at him. He made life fun. After a while, Jeremy grew tired and climbed up on the sofa with them. She hugged him to her knowing it was well past his bedtime.

“You need a bath, little boy. And then bed.”

“Can I take a bath in your tub?”

“No. Not tonight. We’ll do it next time.”

He pouted though he didn’t put up much of a fuss. When she stood, Tank grabbed her wrist.

“I’ve got it. Go run yourself a bath and relax.”

She blinked a few times. “Are you serious?”

He chuckled. “I can handle giving my kid a bath and putting him to bed.”

She grinned. “Okay. You don’t have to tell me twice.”

She bent down to kiss Jeremy goodnight. She could only imagine the mess they’d make but she didn’t want to think about it. Instead, she went to her bathroom and started her own bath. Everything seemed so surreal, she didn’t want to blink for the fear that it was a dream. She lit some candles and sat them on the vanity of the bathroom. She lit more around the tub and turned out the lights. The firelight danced along the walls of the room. She slipped out of her clothes and stepped into the warm bubble-filled water and lay back so that the water covered most of her body.

Her mind completely shut off as she lay there. Sometime later, Tank came in and she shifted in the cooler water.

“You fell asleep, didn’t you?”

She sat up and glanced around. “I could have drowned.”

He shook his head. “You done or do you want some company?”

She pursed her lips. Seeing him fit his big body in the tub with her would be interesting. Even though it was large, she wasn’t sure he’d fit.

“You can join me. I want to empty the cold water though and fill it back up.” She pushed the drain and reached for the bubble bar she had. He stood to the side, slipping his shirt off before working on his pants. Hard muscles that she wanted to kiss and lick came into view as he slowly revealed his body to her.

She watched him as he tugged his pants down his muscular thighs, giving her a nice view of his cock as he worked on undressing every delicious inch of himself. He caught her staring at him and she shrugged. She reached for the bubble bar and crumbled it under the running water as she filled the tub up.

He stepped into the tub and she sat back, watching as he lowered all of his perfect body into the sudsy water. Once he was situated, he splashed a handful of bubbles at her. She laughed.

“So you’re going to move in with us?” she asked as he pulled her foot in front of him.

“That’s what I want. Jeremy said I could share his room.”

She smiled. “I love that kid.”

“Me too.” He massaged her foot, sliding his fingers along the arch and up to her toes. “I told him that I’d camp out with him but Mommy wanted me to stay with her. You’re scared of monsters, by the way. You need me to protect you.”

“I am scared of monsters.”

“I know. It wasn’t a lie.” She rested her feet against his abdomen. He smoothed his hands along the top of her legs. “I promised to camp out with him tomorrow night. He wants to build a fort like the kid in the movie.”

She lay back against the tub. “That sounds like fun.”

“It will be.” He stared at her. “Now, enough about family time. Family time is over. Now it’s sexy time.”

She arched an eyebrow. “Is that right?”

“Yes.” He gripped her ankles and dragged her toward him, pulling her up so that she straddled his lap. Bubbles crackled against her skin as she pressed her breasts to his hard chest. He felt so good against her. She’d had him earlier that night and she wanted him all over again.

“I think we need to get some bondage stuff for the house. You’re not going to visit the club enough to use the playroom.”

She looped her arms around his neck. “What do you have in mind?”

“Ties. Paddles. Flogger.” He stared at her breasts. “It wouldn’t hurt to get some toys to play with either. Plugs, beads, wands, dildos, clamps.”

“You’re not turning our bedroom into your own personal playroom. What if Jeremy found that?”

“You are so afraid of him finding anything.” He smoothed his hands along her slick back. “You weren’t that innocent at his age. You turned out okay.”

She tilted her head to the side. “I’m not raising him the same way I was raised. No kid should ever watch their father fuck anyone. Or shoot someone in cold blood. Or do drugs and tell me that when I became a teenager, I could do them too.”

Tank brushed her hair from her face. “I didn’t mean that. I just meant that
him
finding things or seeing things or asking questions isn’t the end of the world.”

She licked her lips. “So you’re okay with him asking you if you’ve ever killed somebody one
day?

Tank didn’t say anything. She knew the answer. They’ve all had to do what they had to do. He let the back of his hand brush along her nipple.

“My kid is going to grow up one day. He’s going to see the harsh realities of this world. He’s probably going to live through some of them himself. I would like to think that I can prepare him for that. To help him grow up and be a man when the time calls for it.”

“Killing people is being a man now?”

“That’s not what I’m talking about and you know it.”

She did know it. She didn’t know why she let her past seep into the conversation. They were talking about their life together. Having sex and being kinky. She just killed the mood with crap from the past.

He lifted his hand and turned her head so that she could see into his eyes. “What happened at your father’s club that I don’t know about?”

She shook her head. There wasn’t much that he didn’t know about.

“Tell me. What happened? Did he rape you? If he did, I’ll go handle that right now.”

“No.” She gripped his hand and lowered it. “Nothing happened. The only time he really threatened me was recently. Said it was for me bringing a gun into his club.”

“You were going to shoot him?”

She shrugged. “I was looking for Eddy.”

He blew out a breath. “Leave Eddy to me.”

“Yeah.”

He held her to him with one hand on her ass. “I still think something else happened. What are you not telling me? You used to tell me everything.”

She curled up against him, laying her cheek on his shoulder. “He killed my pet pig in cold blood. I wouldn’t sleep with one of his acquaintances and he knew I loved that pig. Shot it in cold blood and made some joke about wanting bacon.” She closed her eyes hating how much she despised that man. “He’s evil.”

“Yeah, I know all about his acquaintances.” Tank held her while she relived that moment. That was her life. If she went against him, there was consequences. It scared her to death when she decided to keep Jeremy. He didn’t want Charming Bastard blood ruining his line. She was afraid that he’d hurt her or that he’d take Jeremy away like he did to her with her mother. That fear grew even worse when Jeremy was kidnapped.

“Did you really sleep with David Riley?”

“Sleep is the wrong word.”

“Is ‘fuck’ better?”

“No.” She pushed up from him. “I entertained him. He took me out on his yacht. He was interested but he wanted a virgin. I wasn’t. That ended that conversation.”

“Part of your dad’s plan?”

“Yep.” She moved back to the other side of the tub. “I’ve only slept with one person against my better judgment. Nothing was forced. I wasn’t raped. I just knew I shouldn’t be doing it but if I didn’t, things would get really ugly fast.”

“Who?”

“Danny.”

Tank frowned. “Your father’s Sargent of Arms?”

She nodded. “He knew something on my dad. Something bad. Said that the only way he’d keep silent is if I fucked him. I didn’t believe it. But my dad actually looked scared of him. It was a pre-pig moment when I actually gave a fuck about him. So I did it. To the best of my knowledge whatever it was never came out.”

Tank stared at her. “How can we find out what that was?”

“I’m not sleeping with him again.”

Tank glared at her. “That’s not even funny.”

She rolled her eyes. “I don’t know. There’s some bad blood there. Catch him in the right mood and he might spill it. He has a temper and a desire for revenge. Offer him club pussy. Convert him to the dark side. I don’t know. I’m not an option though.”

“I’d never ask you to do that.” He gripped her wrist. “You know that, right? I don’t want to even think about another man touching you. I’m the only man that touches you and fucks you.”

He really was different from the way she grew up. He kept saying it, but she didn’t really believe him. But now, the sincerity in his expression had her convinced. The Charming Bastards were different. She wasn’t completely aware of all the ways, but they were.

“If you’re the only one that’s going to touch me and fuck me then why are we still sitting here talking about MC life when we can be touching and fucking?”

He didn’t smile. Instead he stood and lifted her out of the tub. Both were wet and he didn’t bother to dry them off. He sat her on the floor next to the tub and turned her to face the vanity.

She reached in a drawer beside the sink and pulled out a new box of condoms. “Have at it.”

He tore into it and donned the condom with record speed. He reached between her legs and rubbed her clit before guiding his dick to her. It’d been a long time since she’d felt every hot inch of him without barriers and she looked forward to when they could get rid of the condoms.

“I don’t think I can get enough of you.” He pushed inside her, gripping her hips. She laid her hands flat on the vanity, staring at herself in the mirror while he fucked her. God, she loved the sight. She looked so wanton, so needy and eager. She wanted him to fuck her. To claim her and make her his.

He would to. If there was anything she could say about Tank, it was that he made her feel like his. He was possessive and protective. He didn’t control her or bully her. He didn’t force himself on her. If she said stop, even with him buried inside her he would.
