CHAPTER 7

For the first time in many years, Abby was in very high spirits. She was not only in a good mood, but she'd never felt this happy since she'd gotten married. Unfortunately, that had not turned out well. Silently she wanted to scold herself for feeling what she was feeling. But she just couldn't help it. And besides, it would take a lot of effort to try not to be happy.

Planet Cravton was a very small planet near Planet Krach. A lot of the Krach aliens loved to visit here because the weather was sunny and the grass was glowing green all year round. There were only a few aliens that lived there, dedicated to maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of the place. Before anyone could actually step down from their vehicle, they were scanned to ensure good health condition. In other words, no viruses!

Abby was immediately awed by the natural surroundings. It was very much like nature on Earth, except for the fact that the grass actually seemed to radiate with light and there were plenty of odd-looking friendly animals milling about. As if on instinct, she took out her DSLR from her sling bag and began shooting away.

“You seem to be married to that camera,” Dr. Ashkin teased.

“The same way you are to your test tubes,” she retorted playfully.

“You’ve got me there,” he admitted. “So… is that the reason why you never remarried?”

Abby stopped clicking her camera and stood up to face him. She wasn't the least bothered by his question because people always ask her that. But looking at this gorgeous, rock star-looking alien seemed to rattle her and pressure her into coming up with a good quip. She didn't know what to say so she threw the question back at him. “Is your lab the reason why you never remarried?”

“My lab, my profession, my mission… yes…” Dr. Ashkin said as they walked side by side around the vast area. “But my situation is different from yours because I'm in charge of a life and death situation, of the future of our planet. And so it took up all of my time and there's really no one to fall in love with inside my lab, you know… Well, unless you count Bladkov!”

That made her laugh out loud. Again, this seemed to be something new to her after her divorce. Come to think of it… Even when the marriage had been okay, she'd actually never laughed much because her former husband had been so serious. It was only when she was with Kyle that she could be truly herself. But today, it was different because she was being herself with another man--- an alien, even!

“Bladkov's a riot,” Abby commented, taking a snap of a three-winged butterfly that rested on top of a shimmering gold-colored flower.

“You haven't answered my question,” Dr. Ashkin remarked.

Abby turned around to face him. “Oh, yeah. Sorry. I honestly don't know why… Guess there wasn't a good enough man that came my way again.”
Until now.
She was surprised at that added thought. She shook her head physically as she walked faster toward a huge field of dancing colorful flowers.

Soon she was standing in the midst of thick bushes filled with amazingly stunning flowers that seemed to dance to the wind. She positioned herself to take more pictures. “Everything is just so beautiful,” she murmured.

“Yes, so beautiful,” Dr. Ashkin echoed. He was gazing down at her.

Her heart began to race. Her body shivered in the breeze, but she knew it wasn't because of the cold. She stood up straight and found her lens focusing on the face of her companion – the doctor who seemed to be doing crazy things to her heart, mind, and body.

Without any hesitation, she started taking photos of him.

He tensed up, his jaw hardening. “What are you doing?” he asked.

Abby put down her camera. “Taking your photo, of course,” she replied. “Perhaps you have some machine that can help me print my shots. Then you can have one as a souvenir.”

“Well, that's not a souvenir since I always see my face anyway,” he argued. Then he took her camera, their fingers brushing lightly and sending shivers through her arm and down her spine. He pointed it at her and took a photo. “This is the real souvenir, something to remember you by when you finally leave…”

Abby stared at him, her heart pounding even harder in a seemingly irregular pattern now. She didn't know whether to be happy and flattered because he wanted to remember her, or to feel sad because they both knew she wouldn't be staying long.

Suddenly, a male voice interrupted their silent communication. “Mom!” It was Kyle, running toward her. Abby smiled at him, glad to see that he was enjoying their little adventure. Bladkov was right behind him, grinning like a little naughty kid.

Together the four of them had fun exploring the area and then hiking up the hills. There was also a lake where they had the chance to do a bit of fishing. They caught an exotic fish which they cooked on the spot and shared for their lunch.

The day went by fast. Dr. Ashkin wanted to hurry back because the governor might look for him. He was also eager to find out the results of the third wave of experimentation that the technicians had worked on to reproduce Olven's chip which they were looking for.

“You know, from the drawing you showed me, I seem to recall seeing that chip,” Abby suddenly said thoughtfully as the two of them were getting back into the pod. “Perhaps he was wearing it as a pin or on his watch or something…”

“Did he ever give you any gift, or token?” Dr. Ashkin inquired.

Abby shook her head. “Nothing I remember… And besides, why would he pass that chip on to me if it were that important?”

“Maybe to hide it from the evil aliens,” he answered.

“Well, he didn't give me anything,” she reiterated.

The pod closed and started to move up again. After just a few seconds of gliding effortlessly, it began to wobble. Then it tilted to the right, then to the left.

Abby was terrified. “What's happening? Are we going to crash?” she hissed in panic. Instinctively, she grabbed his arm and held on tightly to him to keep her balance as the pod shuddered and quaked harder.

Dr. Ashkin remained calm. He wrapped one arm around her shoulders to steady her. Despite her fear, this gesture made her insides tremble with eagerness and delight.

At that instant, the pod shifted abruptly. Abby lurched to the side, her body pressing close to the doctor's and her legs getting intertwined with his. She could feel his body against his shirt. The pod's movement had thrown them into a diagonal lying position, with her weight bearing down on him and with her face right on top of his.

Abby's hazelnut eyes locked with his brown ones. They gazed at each other for a few seconds, their hearts seeming to beat in unison, their bodies heating up intensely and quickly like wildfire.

One strong hand was wrapped around her waist while she could feel the other groping on the wall. “I need to find that button…” he whispered in between his raspy breathing.

“I think…” Abby began to say.

“There it is,” Dr. Ashkin exclaimed, pressing on the button. As he did, the pod finally stopped shaking and was now back in its gliding mode. It had straightened up too, allowing them to be on their feet once more.

Abby actually felt disappointed when he shifted to move away from her. He was certainly a gentleman, probably not wanting to take advantage of the accident to make a move. Or maybe he was just not interested in her. Maybe she'd been reading all the signs wrongly.

“Is there something wrong?” he then asked, perhaps noticing the expression on her face. “Don't worry. We will land safely now.”

“Uh, okay,” Abby said with a forced smile. “I'm fine, thanks. Are we heading back to Krach?”

“Actually, we're going back to Cravton. This pod has to be repaired first. We're on emergency mode right now.”

“Oh…” was all she could say. Inside, she couldn't help feeling thrilled that she would get to spend more alone time with him. “How long would it take to have it repaired?”

“There are aliens on Cravton who'll take care of it,” he said. “But we might need to spend the night there. I'm sorry…”

I'm not sorry,
Abby thought. Her heart began to beat fast again at the prospect of spending the night with him – alone on an exotic, beautiful planet. Aloud, she said, “That's alright. As long as my son is safe with Bladkov.”

“Oh, don't worry,” he assured her. “They're probably almost home by now. Their pod's quite new so it should have no problem. This one is long overdue for maintenance, but we've been so busy we hadn't had time to take care of it.”

“Kyle and Bladkov might worry about us, though…”

“This pod is programmed to report to the home base or the main computers in the lab when it experiences any trouble. The Cravton aliens will also send word about us, for sure.”

“Okay,” Abby answered in a cheerful tone. “Then we've got nothing to worry about then. I guess I'll just have to enjoy this night adventure on another strange planet!”

Dr. Ashkin chuckled, the sound of his laughter sending delightful shivers down her spine, and making her even more excited for what lay ahead.

CHAPTER 8

Abby stood on the hilltop, wrapping her arms around herself in the chilly evening. She was wearing a blue cardigan on top of her blouse and jeans, but the cold seemed to be seeping in through her skin. However, she wanted to stay longer out there to bask in the beauty of the surroundings.

With the glowing grass and brightly colored flowers being illuminated by two moons shining in the night sky, and with thousands of stars twinkling dazzlingly above her, she felt as if she could just stand there forever relishing the breathtaking scenery.

She'd been so caught up in the exquisite scenery and the serene atmosphere that she didn't hear Dr. Ashkin coming up behind her.

“Abby,” he suddenly called.

Surprised, she turned around quickly and almost lost her balance. He caught her just in time, his arms gripping her arms firmly. Their eyes then fastened on one another. All of a sudden, she couldn't feel the cold anymore. Her body was reacting so rapidly to his touch and gaze, filling up with warmth and excitement at the same time while her heart seemed to burst out of her rib cage from beating so hard.

Maybe it was their physical proximity or the situation they were at. Or maybe it was the romantic backdrop that seemed to draw them to each other at that exact moment. She could sense him giving in, the tremendous desire obvious on his face. She longed for him to kiss her, to touch her in a way she hadn't been touched for so long. She wanted him so badly her whole body was burning with intense fervor.

He leaned down then, his lips meeting hers in a soft, sweet kiss. Then slowly he pulled away and looked into her eyes, as if asking for permission to go further. She didn't say anything, but the hunger in her eyes gave it all away. He kissed her once more, this time with greater passion. She responded eagerly, her body aching to be fondled and caressed by this handsome, intriguing alien who seemed to affect her so gravely.

As if he could feel her growing need, his fingers began lightly to massage the back of her neck, every slight tap sending a tremor throughout her body. As his fingers moved down to caress her shoulders and back, she pressed herself closer to him, kissing him deeply and yearning to feel his skin against hers. He responded by pushing his tongue into her mouth, where it flicked playfully and passionately with her tongue.

His big, muscular hands were now on her waist, feeling the skin underneath, and quickly moving up under her blouse and onto her full breasts. She moaned in pleasure as his fingers fondled with her breasts and then tugged lightly at her nipples, making them taut. His mouth had now moved onto her neck, kissing her ardently as she gave him complete access by pulling her head back. She opened her eyes and was greeted by the stunning sight of the star-covered night sky.

At that moment, she felt his hands going down to the cheeks of her butt. He squeezed them hard and then lifted her up, opening her legs apart and wrapping them around his torso as he again began kissing her lips. He carried her over to the small hut which stood in the midst of some trees. She went up for air and saw that they had neared the door. He then focused his eyes on it and with a quick movement of his head threw the door open telekinetically.

Soon they were lying on the bed inside the hut, stripping each other's clothes off as they devoured each other with kisses and caresses. As the heat between them intensified, she felt her naked body being raised in the air and then hovering just a little bit above the bed.

Without taking his eyes off her, Dr. Ashkin shifted under so that his lips grazed her breasts lightly. Using his telekinetic powers, he moved her ever so slightly as if she was gliding on air. With every slight movement, his lips traveled downward, sending tingles across various parts of her body. In a few seconds, his mouth had reached her wetness and he kissed it gently, making her moan louder. She kept moaning as his lips and tongue played with her sensitive area, intensifying the heat spreading all over. The pleasure was so powerful she couldn't help screaming as he brought her higher and higher, closer and closer to her climax. It was nothing like she'd ever experienced, having an orgasm mid-air!

She had not even recovered yet when he lowered her back down to the bed slowly and mounted on top of her. He entered her quickly, his hardness sliding into her entrance and making her gasp in delight. Together they moved in pleasurable harmony, their bodies seeming to mold into one. And as he seemed to near his climax, he went up and down faster and faster, causing her to cry out repeatedly. They then rose above the bed and he thrust her against the wall, suspended in the air while he was inside her. He came then, a groan of pleasure escaping his lips.

He lowered them back onto the bed then and rolled off onto her side, breathing heavily. Abby opened her eyes, stunned at the incredible pleasure she'd just experienced. She couldn't believe she'd just done it with an alien--- and enjoyed it tremendously.

“Doctor…” she whispered, turning to him.

Dr. Ashkin turned to face her as he lay on the bed, spent. A smile spread across his lips. “Don't call me doctor,” he said.

“Ashkin…” she then uttered softly.

His breath caught in his throat, his eyes twinkling with joy and satisfaction. “Oh, Abby… You are so beautiful…” His eyes then swept across her starkness, making her squirm and grab the sheets to cover her body. He caught her hand just as she pulled the fabric over her breasts.

Their eyes locked on each other then as he interlinked his fingers with hers.

“That was… It was amazing, Ashkin,” Abby breathed. “Your powers seemed to have returned.”

“That's right,” he agreed. “I've actually regained them since you came. And I feel them getting stronger as each day with you passes.”

She blushed slightly, but didn't know how to respond. “I don't know what to say,” she said honestly. “But I am really happy for you.”

“Thank you, Abby,” he murmured, sidling closer to her. “Thank you for making me happy, for helping our planet, for inspiring me and making my ability return. Thank you for just being you.”

“You're welcome,” Abby replied, suddenly feeling shy. “Although I don't think I really did much.”

“Believe me, you did,” he said, reaching over to squeeze her shoulders. His touch seemed to cause goosebumps to appear on her skin as she shivered under his hand. In response, he rubbed her arm gently. As his hand went down, he pulled back the sheets from her body and began kissing her again.
